Working closely with the owner S&K Theatrical Draperies, Inc. helped design a practical and eye pleasing room partition solution to section off the large theater sanctuary for smaller gatherings while helping improve the acoustics of the space. 

Custom scaffolding was built as required to create curtain hang points and install tracks and custom theater drapery. 

All curtains were manufactured with a 100% fullness shirr-pleated finish from Charisma Velour 25oz Inherently Flame Retardant. The back wall curtains decorative acoustical curtains were all surface mounted to the building architecture while the divider traveler curtain was installed on a walk-along 173 Besteel track system. 

The dividing curtains include cut-outs to fit the sloped floor and stairs and feature access slits to facilitate access to the sectioned space without the need to physically open the traveler curtain. 

B’nai David-Judea’s home was once a grand movie theater called the Fox Stadium Theatre. The theater was designed in the late 1920s by architects Carl and Robert Boller. The Boller brothers, originally from Kansas City, specialized in theater design in the Midwest. They began in 1905, designing theaters for the Vaudeville circuit. 

In 1921, Carl moved to Los Angeles, where he designed three theaters (the Fox Stadium, the Fontana, and the Corona Theater). The Fontana Theater still stands and is used for performing arts, as does the Corona, which is now a church. B’nai David-Judea’s building has functioned as a shul since 1964.
