FLAME RETARDANT CERTIFICATE
Manufacturers and chemist laboratories have developed textiles from polymer extruded filament fibers along with non-water soluble chemical compounds that bind into the fibers providing flame resistance.
Flame Retardant Duck Cloth
Canvas duck -also known as duck cloth- is an extremely heavy-duty tightly-woven fabric used for making murals, ground cloths and scenic sets among other uses. Because of its sturdiness and durability, this fabric is also widely used in the theatrical field for making sandbags and storage bags. Also known as duck cloth and Panama cloth. Can be used to make custom props and cover flats.
NOTE: When estimating fabric yardage to cover flats, allow at least 6 inches of extra material on all sides. The excess can be trimmed after sizing the flat. Flame retardant canvas is recommended for unpainted backdrops as painted treatments will require special techniques to prevent the FR chemical salts from recrystallizing and leaching to the fabric surface.
Cut yardage fabric may be folded to ship via UPS. Full rolls ship via LTL freight. Purchase multiple rolls to reduce freight charges.
FR Canvas fabric meets the minimum requirements of flame resistance established by the California State Fire Marshall for products identified in Section 13115, California Health and Safety Code.
