Muslin Cotton Non F.R. NFR
Non Fire Retardant Muslin in narrow widths is used for small drops or to cover flats, while the extra-wide fabric is used to make seamless stage drops, cycloramas or surrounds.
When painting on your flat or backdrop, we recommend you use NFR muslin, since FR muslin is chemically treated to be flame retardant and the moisture in the paint may cause the chemical to leach to the surface causing discoloration. Flame Retardant chemicals can be added to the paint, or the painted fabric can be sprayed with a FR chemical to comply with local fire codes.
